I came across this comment in the New York Times' review of a couple Swan Lakes:

Ashley Tuttle's Odette-Odile ... was so strangely impersonal that it was hard to imagine the urgent impulse that must have once driven Ms. Tuttle to succeed so splendidly in the difficult career of dance.
